Finnish Mining Association (FinnMin)

FinnMin has just over 50 members. These include mining operators, contractors, suppliers of machinery and equipment, service providers and exploration companies.

The association’s operations are fully financed by its membership fees. The association was founded in 1999 and was originally called the Finnish Extractive Industries Association. FinnMin has a partnership agreement with the Technology Industries of Finland. The association’s office is located at Eteläranta 10 in Helsinki. Moreover, FinnMin represents its members in international bodies such as Euromines, which is located in Brussel

Membership fees

The membership fee is determined according to eight different fee categories. Corporate members pay an annual membership fee, the amount of which is decided by the association’s autumn meeting for each fee category for one year at a time.

A corporate member’s fee category — and thus the amount of the membership fee — is based either on the company’s turnover for the most recently completed financial year prior to the meeting, or on the portion of the turnover related to the association’s field of activity.

For member companies engaged in mineral exploration, the company’s investments in research or exploration activities in Finland during the previous calendar year are treated as equivalent to turnover when determining the membership fee.

You can find the membership fee categories here.
